After the lenghty, exhausting Trojan War, we headed for home. During the journey, after much partying and drinking,
Odysseus, along with the rest of our crew, were so trashed, we got stuck on an island. Little did our clouded minds know, we had put outselves in the very grasp of Calypso, goddess of enchantment. For the next seven years, though none of us could complain, we were prisoners of the powerful goddess, where we spent our days in fear that we might never return to Ithica.
However, with the help from the mighty goddess of war and wisdom, Athena, seen right ->, we persueded Calypso to release us from her god-forsaken island. Afterward, she helped us to build a raft that began the long journey home. Though the raft was destroyed, we were washed up on the land of the Phaecians where Alcinous welcomed us with open arms and open wine caskets.
